A candle march was organised by the protesting farmers under the banner of the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) and Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM non-political) at the Shambhu and Khanauri borders on Saturday evening.
He had not only defied SKM's decision of keeping the tractor parade away from Delhi, but the farm union had also held him responsible for the chaos at the Red Fort three years ago.
Apart from the Black Day protest, the agitating farmers have announced a nationwide tractor pradarshan (demonstration) on February 26. The primary aim is to exert pressure on the government to withdraw from the World Trade Organization (WTO).
