RAPID CITY, S.D. When all the presents have been opened, you’re usually left with a pile of trash.
Community leaders say rather than throwing it out and taking up space in the landfill, you should recycle what you can.
Simple things like recycling the cardboard all those presents came in can go a long way to keeping the load down.
However, those boxes can’t go in the curbside bin. They need to be dropped off at Rapid City Solid Waste or the drop off sites at Fitzgerald Stadium, or West Boulevard North.
As for the trees and wreaths that start to dry out, they can also be dropped off at those locations starting this Saturday. You’re just asked to remove all the decorations and not bag the tree.
