Stephen Sloan was appointed Westbrook Fire Chief on Monday. He had served as interim chief since former chief Andrew Turcotte stepped down in October 2021.
The eateries, in Portland and Westbrook, are unrelated and serve very different markets. But both have an avid customer base and on Thursday both announced they were shuttering permanently.
The night sky appears to be illuminated by a full moon from the Earth as seen from space. An ice disk is forming on the Presumpscot River near Westbrook, Maine, and onlookers are rushing there to witness the event. A river in New York was the first to see the strange occurrence in 2019.
