Developer to propose new workforce housing complex in Northeast Rochester

ROCHESTER, Minn. - A new residential complex may be on its way to Northeast Rochester.
Joseph Development is readying a plan to build a three-story residential complex that would bring 66 units of family workforce housing to a vacant lot near Century High School. The property is located at 2235 26th Street NE, neighboring a Kwik Trip.
A representative of the developer says it has not yet submitted formal plans to the City of Rochester, however a potential timeline offered to area residents states it could begin construction in August of 2021, and complete construction by July of 2022.
Rochester to Make Repairs to Parking Ramp 6
City leaders originally planned to build at least 8 levels of affordable housing above the parking ramp.

ROCHESTER, Minn. - Rochester is moving forward with repairs to parking ramp 6.
The downtown ramp was originally designed to include at least eight floors of affordable housing units, but structural issues have prevented construction of the units from moving forward.
City staff have now been authorized to begin taking bids from construction companies to make repairs to the ramp, including the sealing of cracks, waterproofing enhancements, and drainage corrections.
City Council Member Shaun Palmer says while these repairs are necessary, they won t impact the city s ability to build affordable housing units above the parking ramp, which has become much more complicated after construction.
