Within the month, La Mesa expects to update its equipment to allow live public comment via phone. With in-person council meetings at City Hall on hiatus for nearly a year, people who want to speak to the council currently are only able to do so at the city’s Emergency Operations Center in La Mesa’s Fire Administration Building on Allison Avenue.
The city still accepts comments by email, with letters read by City Clerk Megan Wiegelman. But Wiegelman last week said the opportunity for people to speak to the City Council via phone live is being evaluated now.
