The City of Cadiz will soon begin searching for a new City Clerk following the resignation of Brian Ahart earlier this week.
Mayor Todd King confirmed to the News Edge that Ahart tendered his immediate resignation Tuesday afternoon. King declined to answer questions about the resignation. He referred all questions to City Attorney Allen Wilson.
King says Ahart has served as Cadiz City Clerk for 11 years. He says they will soon begin the search for a new clerk. In the interim Assistant City Clerk Susan Hyde and Public Works Director Kerry Fowler will oversee the day to day operations until a new city clerk is hired.
