The Shootouts Announce Sophomore Album Bullseye

Equal parts vintage Nashville, Texas swing, and Bakersfield bravado, The Shootouts sophomore album draws heavily from the music on which the band s members were brought up, packaging all of country music s classic subgenres in their modern, signature sound. Produced by former BR459 lead singer Chuck Mead, Bullseye shows The Shootouts mining their roots and expanding the territory they explored with their debut album, Quick Draw. The songs invoke a wide array of country music s most important contributors, lassoing the band s classic influences and bringing them straight into the present.

The voyage, on the Norwegian Pearl, will mark a return visit for both Earle and Williams. They were part of Outlaw Country Cruise 5, which took place in January last year before coronavirus took its grip on the world. Others on the 2020 adventure included Shooter Jennings, Margo Price, the Mavericks, and Blackberry Smoke.

Next year’s expedition, organized by Sixthman and Renegade Circus, will raise anchor on February 25 in Miami, sailing to Costa Maya, Mexico, and the island of Harvest Caye, southern Belize, and returning on March 3. Harris will perform on the trip with the Hot Band, of which Crowell was a distinguished member for three years in the 1970s. Virtuoso British guitarist Albert Lee, his bandmate in the line-up at that time, is also in the line-up for the cruise.

Last January, the fifth installment of the Outlaw Country Cruise was at sea when the WHO declared the novel coronavirus a public health emergency. Like the majority of cruises, the 2021 installment was subsequently postponed and will now launch in 2022 with a just-announced lineup.
Set for February 25th through March 3rd, 2022, Outlaw Country Cruise 6 will feature perennial headliners Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle, and Elizabeth Cook, along with a special reunion: Emmylou Harris will re-team with the core members of her legendary backing group, the Hot Band, including Rodney Crowell and Albert Lee. This marks Harris’ first time on the cruise, as well as her first performance as Emmylou Harris & the Hot Band in 25 years.
