I welcome the Taoiseach’s public apology to Dr Tony Holohan, long overdue for a man and his family who sacrificed much for our country. We forget so easily.
The important editorial (‘Young people must not be made to wait for mental health services to catch up’, Irish Independent, September 11) raises many questions, not just for the HSE, but for every politician in Ireland.
Your focus on how to promote better school outcomes for children is welcome (‘Pupils in rural areas more likely to be in overcrowded classes’, Irish Independent, August 4). However, there is a need for more analysis of why some classes are large, before policy conclusions are reached.
