A Williamson County deputy pled guilty to charges of official oppression and assault in a 2019 case. Deputy Christopher Pisa, 29, entered the guilty plea on April 21.
A Williamson County Sheriff's deputy entered a guilty plea for "official oppression and assault" in connection to an excessive force case from 2019, according to a news release from District Attorney Shawn Dick's office.
Williamson County Sheriff Mike Gleason has rehired an indicted deputy accused of using excessive force on a 30-year-old woman in 2019.
Deputy Christopher Pisa, 25, faces charges of assault and official oppression. Pisa, who had resigned last year, is now working in an administrative position and is not on patrol, Gleason said Friday.
The hiring comes as Gleason has said that he is trying to reboot an agency that has faced intense public scrutiny over how deputies used force and other controversial tactics under the administration of former Sheriff Robert Chody.
Authorities have not released an account of what happened during the April 2019 incident with Imani Nembhard.
