New Williamson County sheriff hires deputy accused of using excessive force

Williamson County Sheriff Mike Gleason has rehired an indicted deputy accused of using excessive force on a 30-year-old woman in 2019. Deputy Christopher Pisa, 25, faces charges of assault and official oppression. Pisa, who had resigned last year, is now working in an administrative position and is not on patrol, Gleason said Friday. The hiring comes as Gleason has said that he is trying to reboot an agency that has faced intense public scrutiny over how deputies used force and other controversial tactics under the administration of former Sheriff Robert Chody. Authorities have not released an account of what happened during the April 2019 incident with Imani Nembhard.
