The National Confectioners Association said in response that both chocolate and cocoa “are safe to eat and can be enjoyed as treats as they have been for centuries."
A bill in the California Legislature would ban five chemicals found in some of the most popular candy in the U.S., including the popular Easter favorite Peeps.
