kristin fisher following new development late tonight over donald trump s campaign event. reporter: 24 hours from the deadline set by the chairman of the senate judiciary committee, brett cavanagh s accuser to decide if she s willing to testify on monday. negotiations ongoing between the committee and christine ford s legal team and two sources confirmed for the conditions her legal team his condition on. first, they don t want any lawyers to do the questioning, only members of the committee. second, brett cavanagh cannot be in the room. finally they want brett kavanaugh to go first is one of those is a nonstarter. a senior staffer told fox it makes sense for the accused to follow and respond to the charges. brett cavanagh would obviously follow doctor ford. there is distance between the two sides. one thing notably absent from the list of demands is the request for the fbi to investigate.
where republicans have been on this, saying that the 10:00 p.m. deadline, there needs to be not just a response, an agreement for testimony, or else they would go ahead and vote on monday. and to take you behind the scenes a little bit, chris, i can tell you that there has been immense frustration on the republican side of things over the course of the last couple of days. they feel like they ve been accommodating. they feel like the conversation with deborah katz, christine blasey ford s lawyer, last night was a positive conversation that was eventually going to lead to a hearing. what they hadn t gotten until just now was a response. as deborah katz laid out in detail, there were good reasons according to christine blasey ford s legal time why a response didn t come in detail, why they need an extra day. but that, for a lot of republicans on the committee who were partaking in a conference call behind closed doors earlier today, is not a good enough answer. so that leads us to the qu
