UPDATE: Name of Man who Died in Murfreesboro Home Fire this Past Thursday Released by Fire Marshal's Office

Rutherford County, TN - WGNS now has more news on a fatal home fire that occurred on Snell Road in Murfreesboro this past Thursday, February 9, 2023. The Rutherford County Fire Marshal’s office confirmed the victim of the fire has been identified as 68-year-old Obie Shipp who lived at 3701 Snell Road in Murfreesboro.  On the date of the fire, Rutherford County Fire Rescue Crews responded to the blaze at 9:38 P.M. to find the house was up-in-flames. One Person and Three Pets Die in a Thursday Night Fire in Rutherford County

Rutherford County, TN - One person and three pets died in a house fire Thursday night at the 3700-block of Snell Road, Rutherford County Fire Rescue Department reported. The 3700 block only has about 13-homes on it. Snell Road sits between Highway 41 and I-24 in Christiana, close to Elam Road. The victim’s name is being withheld pending next of kin notification. One firefighter sustained injuries and was transported to an area hospital for minor injuries and was later discharged. .

Early Saturday Morning Blaze

An early Saturday morning (12/4/2021) blaze destroyed a structure on East Gum Road. Firefighters arrived to find the detached garage fully involed.  Flames were quickly extinguished, but the building and its contents were destroyed.  No injuries were reported.  Special thanks to everyone for working together as a team: Rutherford County Fire Rescue, Christiana Volunteer Fire Department, Kittrell Fire Department, Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services, and Rutherford .
