Three people were seriously injured in a weather-related crash Tuesday morning on I-24 in Christian County.
A semi was stopped with traffic on the eastbound side near the 71 mile-marker when it was rear-ended by a pickup that was hauling a trailer with a vehicle on it, according to Deputy Chris Miller.
Another semi then struck the rear of the pickup, causing severe damage.
All three occupants of the pickup had to be extricated by the Christian County Rescue Team. Two males were taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center and a female was flown to Vanderbilt University medical center with multiple serious injuries.
Deputies have released the names of three people from Florida that were injured in a wreck on Interstate 24 Tuesday morning.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say a tractor-trailer driven by Ray Carrazana of Lake Worth, Florida, was stopped in the eastbound lanes due to traffic when he was hit by a truck driven by Cory Weibe of Osteen that was pulling a trailer and an SUV.
Another tractor-trailer driven by Rahul Rajpoot then hit the truck pinning Osteen and his passengers Claud Carter and Andrea Weibe inside the truck. All three people were extricated from the vehicle by the Christian County Rescue Team.
A wreck on Interstate 24 at the 70-mile marker sent three people to the hospital one with critical injuries Tuesday morning. Christian County Sheriff's deputies
