A seventh grader was allegedly raped at a village in Alfadanga upazila of Faridpur yesterday afternoon.
The victim s uncle filed a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act against the alleged rapist Md Sumon Molla (25) with Alfadanga Police Station today, said Md Wahiduzzaman, officer-in-charge of the police station.
The 12-year-old victim is now undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital in Faridpur, said the OC, adding that they are trying to arrest the accused.
According to the case statement, the incident took place yesterday afternoon when she went to take bath in a pond near her uncle house.
