Seventeen newly promoted officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Rivers Command were decorated on Thursday.
The command said the newly decorated officers would strengthen its operations in 2021.
The State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Salisu Galadunci, said in a statement on Thursday that the newly promoted officers were among those whose names appeared on the promotion list in 2019.
He said that 17 officers from the command, cutting across different ranks, were successful.
The sector commander said that the list was approved by the FRSC Board and released by management in December 2020.
“The promoted officers were declared successful on completion of a series of normal promotion exercise as supervised by the Office of the Secretary to the Federal Government.

Performing the decoration of the officers with their new ranks on Wednesday In Lokoja, the state Sector Commander, Mr Solomon Aghure, congratulated them but was quick to add that every promotion comes with greater responsibility.
He charged the promoted personnel to always put in their best, saying that their new ranks call for more hard work and dedication to duty.

The Federal Road Safety Corps has announced the promotion of 2,880 officers and marshals to new ranks.
The Corps Public Education Officer Assistant Corps Marshal Bisi Kazeem made the announcement in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja.
He said that the FRSC approved the promotions following the consideration of a report by its establishment committee.
Kazeem said that 435 officers were promoted to their next ranks, 769 Marshal Inspectors, and 1,676 Road Marshal Assistants were equally elevated to the next ranks.
According to him, out of the 435 officers, 33 of them are promoted from the rank of Chief Route Commander to Route Commander.
