Mangaluru, May 11: The top religious leaders of coastal Karnataka have announced that the Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on May 13.
Twaqa Ahmed Musliyar, the Qadhi of Mangaluru, was the first to confirm that no new moon was sighted in the region on May 11.
“We have not received the news of new moon sighting from anywhere in the region. Hence it was decided to continue fasting on May 12 and observe Eid al-Fitr,” he declared.
Meanwhile, Abdul Hameed Musliyar Mani, the Qadhi of the composite Jama’at of Udupi, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan and Shivamogga, also issued a similar statement.

Confirming the news of Ajit Singh s demise, his son Jayant Singh Chaudhary asked people to pay their respects to him from home as the nation confronts the horrific pandemic.

He was always devoted to the interests of the farmers. He efficiently discharged the responsibilities of several departments at the centre. Kangana Ranaut s Twitter account permanently suspended for spreading hatred

Twitter has permanently suspended actor Kangana Ranaut s account for repeated violations of rules, specifically its Hateful Conduct and Abusive Behaviour policy”, the microblogging site said in a statement on Tuesday.
The 34-year-old actor’s handle @KanganaTeam now displays the message: account suspended.
Ranaut, known for her often inflammatory tweets, posted several messages following the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress’ win over the BJP in West Bengal and incidents of post-poll violence. Calling for President’s Rule in the state, she also blamed Banerjee for the violence and called her unpublishable names.
