There s a new option available for some people on Prince Edward Island looking for a drive.
Kari is like Uber or Lyft rides are booked and paid for using an online app designed on P.E.I., and users can t hail a Kari ride from the street.
The service is now serving Charlottetown, Montague and North Rustico. One of the biggest reasons that we wanted to start this company was to sort of address some of the impaired driving issues that are not only frequent in town, unfortunately, but also all over the Island, said co-owner Len Currie.

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama Exactly 39 years to the day he put on his first official officer’s uniform with the Loxley Police Department, Rex Bishop, now a lieutenant who has served the last 17 years as chief investigator with the Robertsdale Police Department, is retiring.
“It’s been a very rewarding job,” Bishop said, “helping take criminals off the street, particularly when those criminals hurt children. I’ve worked a lot of cases over the years involving children and when I can be involved in getting children out of harm’s way, that has been the most rewarding.”

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - The Leland Police Department is working on self improvement after participating in a reform initiative last year.
The Collaborative Reform Initiative takes a look inside participating police departments. It allows agencies to identify their strengths and also see in which areas they could improve.
For Leland, the police department found that its training process was its strong suit, but it needs some work when it comes to recruitment and retaining employees.
Truesdale works with UL FSRI on fire safety

Sidney Fire Lt. The panel is conducting a residential home size-up and search and rescue operations study.
SHARON HILL, Pa. Fire Lt. Jason Truesdale is working to help further fire service safety and bring back valuable information to the city of Sidney’s Department of Fire and Emergency Services.
In March 2019, Truesdale was selected to be a member of the Underwriter Laboratories Firefighter Safety Research Institute’s (UL FSRI) technical panel to study residential home size-up and search and rescue operations during live-fire experiments. According to UL FSRI, members were selected based on fire service experience, geography, department siz
