Librarian Katie Clark of Chestnut Ridge Middle School came up with the idea of creating a book vending machine for the library.
The vending machine is part of efforts to support the districtâs PRIDE program, which encourages positive behavior and decisions, and will be used as part of Clarkâs motivational program.
Students will use their token rewards received for positive behavior to purchase books from the vending machine.
âI thought it was just a farfetched dream,â said Clark.
Her vision came true with the help of the Chestnut Ridge Educational Foundation.
The vending machine was purchased through donations from the Chestnut Ridge Educational Foundation through venture grants.
