The news team from PGTV took top honors recently when they won the British Columbia Association of Broadcasters Award of Excellence for their documentary, Crossing the Line. In their category, the news team won out over larger media outlets like Vancouver.
“We were up against some competition. It was the David and Goliath sort of thing,” said cameraman Dave Branco. He teamed up with reporter Cheryl Jahn and the two ventured into Atlanta, Georgia. They staying there almost a week, conducting dozens of interviews and going through rolls of film to get their story. And while the camera rolled, they made fast friends of our neighbors in the deep south.
