The Detroit Lakes Tribune accepts community calendar items for publication online and, space permitting, in our Wednesday and Saturday print editions. Submissions must be made at least a week in advance of the event date, in writing, to either dltribune@dlnewspapers.com or vgerdes@dlnewspapers.com. Each submission must include the date, time and location of event, and where to go for more information (phone, email and/or website). Also include whether the event is free or paid admission, and how much it costs when applicable.
The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center's new gallery exhibit “Local Legends" opened earlier this month with artwork by 11 regional artists. It runs through March 2 with a reception on Feb. 23.
Dennis Warner will perform at the New York Mills Public Library on Jan. 19 and visit the NYM Public School to present his “Beads on One String" to promote positive behavior in children using music.
