Moungi Bawendi, Louis Brus and Alexei Ekimov won for “the discovery and synthesis of quantum dots”, used in LED TVs, solar panels and to guide surgeons while removing cancer tissue.
The 2023 Nobel Prize in chemistry has been awarded to a trio of scientists who worked to discover and develop quantum dots, used in LED lights and TV screens, as well as by surgeons when removing cancer tissue.

He is known for dedicating his life to the discovery of practical new chemical reactions.
