Buyer frustration climbs with New Braunfels housing prices

The area s home sales market continues to appear unstoppable, despite a pandemic and a historic winter storm. Home sales in the San Antonio-New Braunfels Metropolitan Statistical Area increased 16.6% in March, compared to a year ago when the COVID-19 pandemic was just arriving in the area. A total of 3,543 homes sold during the month, according to the Multiple Listing Service Report from the San Antonio Board of Realtors. The average home sales price in the area rose 14.9% to $317,387, with the median price increasing 11.1% to $265,000. However, months of inventory continued to remain low, with only 1.2 months available. The month ended with 3,698 new listings, 3,963 active listings and 3,457 pending sales.
