CLEMSON, S.C. - Senior infielder Blake Wright (Belleair, Fla.) was named ACC Player-of-the-Week, announced Monday by the league office. He joined Wake Forest's Chase Burns, who was named ACC Pitcher-of-the-Week, in receiving conference accolades. ACC baseball weekly honors are determined by a vote of a select media panel and are announced on Mondays throughout the regular season.Wright had one of the best weeks in school history by going 13-for-22 (.591) with six home runs, 21 RBIs, 10 runs, a 1.409 slugging percentage, two walks and a .625 on-base percentage in leading Clemson to a 5-0 record in five games, including a three-game sweep of No. 7 Florida State. CLEMSON, S.C. - Tuesday's scheduled game between Coastal Carolina and Clemson at Doug Kingsmore Stadium has been canceled due to illness within the Chanticleer program. The game between the Chanticleers, who played a doubleheader at App State on Sunday and traveled directly to Clemson after that series, and the Tigers at Doug Kingsmore Stadium will not be made up. Information regarding tickets for Tuesday's canceled game and a potential replacement game will be provided by the Clemson University athletic department ticket office once details relative to the potential replacement game are determined. MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The sixth-seeded Clemson University Men’s Basketball program never trailed, leading by as many as 15 points and holding on late, advancing to the fifth NCAA Sweet Sixteen in program history after a 72-64 victory over No. 3 Baylor (24-11) at FedEx Forum in the West Region. The Tigers (23-11) had a ten-point lead at halftime in the first meeting between the programs since 1983. A 16-2 Baylor lead in a late four-minute span narrowed the margin to two, but Clemson went 8-for-8 from the line in the final two minutes to ice the win. Clemson, S.C.– Clemson Student-Athlete Development and Clemson student-athletes are set to host the Be A T.I.G.E.R. Field Day presented by BASF in Seneca, a free youth clinic on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. prior to the Football Spring Game. The event will take place on the Littlejohn Lawn closest to Memorial Stadium, and near the TigerTown Tailgate. The event is free and open to children grades Kindergarten through sixth grade. The theme this year is “Space,” and fans are encouraged to bring the whole family to take part in this event prior to the Spring Game, which kicks off at 1 p.m. Entry into the Spring Game is free, and no ticket is required for entry. The Tigers will travel to Gainesville, Fla., to compete in the first round against Iowa State on Thursday, April 4.The winner of Clemson’s April 4 dual meet against Iowa State will face Florida, Missouri, and Georgia in a quad meet on Friday, April 5, while the other portion of the regional includes Utah, Michigan State, Towson, and Maryland. The regional final will be held on Sunday, April 7.2024 AAI Award Nominee Rebecca Wells was selected as an individual all-around competitor, while Molly Arnold was selected as both a vault and floor specialist.
