Daily Times AJK former PM Sardar Attique wins LA-14 Bagh seat July 26, 2021 The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lead the race in Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly (AJKLA) elections, according to preliminary results announced by the Election Commission (EC) till filing of this report late on Sunday. According to the unconfirmed and unofficial results, the PTI won 22 seats out of 32 constituencies whose results were announced by the commission, while its arch rival Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) grabbed four seats, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) clinched five seats while All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference secured one seat. Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq, the PTI’s candidate from LA-1 Dadiyal, emerged victorious in election by securing 14,233 votes. Chaudhry Masood Khalid of PML-N came second by bagging 7,609 votes.

MUZAFFARABAD: The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) retired Justice Abdul Rashid Sulehria on Tuesday rejected an inquiry report by the returning officer (RO) of LA-1, Mirpur-I on the issue of grant of cash by federal minister Ali Ameen Gandapur to a PTI activist at an election related event in Dadyal and ordered him to resubmit a fresh inquiry after identifying the culpable as well as the beneficiary in the matter. Without taking any name, he also declared that proper proceedings should be initiated against the minister in the police station [concerned] and confiscated money be made its part as an evidence.
