it s really scary. a fight sends two women to segregation. when you hit me don t think i m not going to touch you back. for one of the combatants isolation takes a toll. i m going crazy in that room. they want to violate the rules and regulation but don t want to do the time. located on the atlantic coast of georgia, savannah is one of the south s oldest and most historic cities. a leading travel magazine twice listed savannah as one of america s favorite destinations. more than likely it wasn t taking county jail into consideration. this is not where i wanted to go.
on any given day there are around 1,500 inmates at the chatham county detention center in savannah, georgia. and the jail relies on a select group of them to help the facility running. nonviolent inmates with good behavior can become trustees who work in a variety of roles. including barbers, cooks and janitors. your days go a lot quicker. you get up so early, it makes you tired at the end of the day. keeps you out of the cell. keeps you from being locked up all day like other guys and stuff. that s the only thing i like about it. while they say they like the work, not all of the jobs are pleasant. you don t look happy. not happy cleaning up somebody else s urine and feces. justin padilla and edward abernathy are here to clean
