Man found dead after not returning from Ross County camping trip

Updated: 1:23 PM EDT May 27, 2021 ROSS COUNTY, Ohio Search and rescue teams have found the body of a man who was reported missing on Monday after he went on a camping trip in Ross County last weekend and never returned.  Crews found the body of Brian Jones, 53, shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday in a wooded area near the Scioto River Bridge on Charleston Pike.  Jones left for the trip in that area on Saturday and was reported missing two days later, according to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office.  The investigation is ongoing, but the sheriff’s office says no foul play is suspected at this time.

Harrison Township Trustees Held their Organizational Meeting

Jan 20, 2021 (Charleston Pike) The Harrison Township Board of Trustees held their organizational meeting on Monday, January 11th. During the meeting, Claude David Gray was once again selected to serve as Board President for the year 2021, with Arthur Jones Jr. serving as Vice President. The Harrison Township Board of Trustees will continue to meet on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Township Office, located at 7489 Charleston Pike in Ross County, unless posted otherwise. Harrison Township Fiscal Officer, Donna Snyder, also announced the 2020 Harrison Township Financial Reports are available for review upon request.
