The Ontario Sires Stakes (OSS) season gets underway this weekend at Flamboro Downs with Prospect Series action on Saturday (May 20) and Grassroots racing featured as part of the Charles Juravinski Memorial Cup undercard on Sunday (May 21).
Ron Burke trainees took top honours in the pair of $35,000 eliminations for the Charles Juravinski Memorial Cup, a race for pacing four-year-olds, on Sunday night (May 14) at Flamboro Downs with Birthday and Bythemissal taking victories.
Longtime harness racing industry participant and well-known philanthropist Margaret Juravinski, a lifelong resident of Hamilton, Ont., passed away on May 9, 2023 at the age of 91.
The second edition of the Charles Juravinski Memorial Cup has attracted 15 of the sport's top four-year-old pacers that will face off in a pair of $35,000 eliminations on Sunday, May 14 at Flamboro Downs. The $260,000 estimated final will be contested the following Sunday, May 21.
