Children s summer camp underway in Kohima

Our CorrespondentKohima, June 30 (EMN): A two-day children’s summer camp organised by St. Francis de Sales (SFS) Parish, Kohima town, got underway at Charity School on Thursday on the theme “Treasured: discovering you’re priceless to God.” Speaking at the inaugural programme, Rev. Fr. Gwatilo Alex Tep, assistant priest of SFS parish, advised the children to dedicate more time in learning about their faith. “Unless we know about our faith, we can be taken for a ride, took for granted and misled by wrong doctrines or teachings,” he cautioned. Narrating a story with a demonstration, Fr. Alex reminded the children that they are “precious and priceless” and that each one has been given a “ticket to heaven.” He, however, stated that one must shun laziness, disobedience, selfishness or pride and become more generous and kind towards people in order to get a ticket to heaven. More people eligible to book earlier COVID-19 vaccine second dose

THUNDER BAY - More people across the province will be able to book a second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine sooner, while the Thunder Bay District Health Unit is looking to reach more people with pop-up clinics. The provincial government announced on Friday that individuals over the age of 70, as well as those who received their first dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine on or before April 18, 2021, can book an earlier second dose starting Monday, June 7 through the provincial online booking system. Individuals in the above noted groups who received a first dose through a pharmacy or primary care provider can book an accelerated second dose as of Friday.
