The Chandler Police Department released a redacted police report on Thursday afternoon about the Jan. 2 police shooting that ultimately killed 17-year-old Anthony Cano weeks later.
Chandler police issued the report eight days after they released unredacted body-camera footage showing Officer Chase Bebak-Miller attempting to stop Cano, who was riding a bicycle, before pursuing him in a foot chase into Gazelle Meadows Park and shooting Cano in the back twice when the teen reached for a handgun that fell out of his pocket.
The family of Anthony Cano, 17, said bodycam video shows he didn t deserve to be shot. “That officer hunted him like you hunt prey,” said the teen s grandmother.
The family of the teen shot and killed by a Chandler police officer is calling for the officer to be fired. They say Anthony Cano's life should've never been taken.
