Suspect in 10-year-old boy s fatal shooting facing several charges in Queens

A suspect is in custody in connection to the deadly shooting of 10-year-old Justin Wallace in Queens.
The suspect was arrested following tips to police on Tuesday, which would have been Justin Wallace s 11th birthday.
A vigil will be held at the home on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
Jovan Young, 29, was arrested Tuesday on charges of murder, attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Young walked, stone-faced, between two detectives, into a waiting car for the ride to central booking Tuesday night. The message is clear, if you use a gun in New York City, you will be arrested. if you harm someone, if you kill someone, you will be brought to justice. FAR ROCKAWAY A suspect was arrested in the deadly shooting of 10-year-old Justin Wallace that occurred three days before the boy’s birthday.
Jovan Young, 29, was arrested on June 8 what would have been Wallace’s 11th birthday. The NYPD charged Young with murder, attempted murder, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon. Police said Young turned himself in.
Video surveillance released by the NYPD shows a gunman firing numerous rounds directly at a house from the sidewalk on the night of June 5. The bullets struck Wallace and his 29-year-old cousin inside the Far Rockaway home of Wallace’s aunt. Wallace was pronounced dead a short time later at a nearby hospital. The 29-year-old is in recovery.
