The Central Medical Services Society (CMSS) in India has awarded tenders for 350 million condoms, despite delays in procurement. The agency failed to procure condoms in a timely manner, affecting the country s family planning programme. The All India Condom Manufacturer Association, which includes companies manufacturing condom brand Nirodh, had criticized CMSS s handling of procurement, having cancelled two condom tenders twice in 2023.
