The police say they are following several leads into Friday’s incident in which five people were shot, one fatally, by gunmen during a drive-by attack in downtown Kingston.
The victim, who has since succumbed to injuries received in the attack, has been identified as Donte Golbourne, a 20-year-old Kingston resident.
Police said one of the leads they are looking into suggests that the attack may have been linked to an ongoing gang feud taking place in and around the Kingston Central Division.
“The division has been plagued with ongoing gang violence so the attack we believe is associated with continued gang violence in the division,” said Maldria Jones – Hamilton, superintendent in charge of Central Kingston Police Division.
