On Sunday, she made history, playing her 10,000th minute for the Red Stars in front of 3,301 fans. She became the first player in the club’s history to reach that milestone and the sixth player in NWSL history to play 10,000 minutes with one team. “In professional sports these days, you don’t have people that stick with the same place for seven, eight or nine years,” Red Stars coach Rory Dames said. “It’s a compliment to her and her durability. It’s great for the club, and it’s great for the city because she’s one of our own.”

The news much speculated on and wished for in the NWSL is now official German international midfielder Dzsenifer Marozsán and French international goalkeeper Sarah Bouhaddi are finally coming to the league. OL Reign announced today that the midfielder and goalkeeper will be joining the club in early June, on loan for the remainder of the 2021 NWSL season.
When OL Groupe acquired the Reign in December 2019, it seemed inevitable that talent from Olympique Lyonnais would come to the Pacific Northwest. Today’s announcement marks the first time that such a move has occurred, and it took a lot of behind-the-scenes work to make it happen.

Jess Fishlock has featured for OL Reign and its previous namesakes, the Seattle Reign and Reign FC since the NWSL launched in 2013. The Wales native has made her mark in the Puget Sound. Now, she’s back for another season, a ninth season, for the Reign.
Fishlock and Spanish International Celia Jiménez Delgado have been recalled by OL Reign from their loans. Both players went on loan to Europe last summer Fishlock jetted to the FA WSL, featuring for Reading FC, while Celia joined OL Reign’s partner club, European powerhouse Olympique Lyonnais.
