Jane lindaman says the district spent four years coming up with the plan that voters struck down. She said the district figured the community was, for the most part, verer supportive of the plan. Now, administrator s want to know what went wrong. The district is planning on opening a dialog with voters to find out why so many said no. In the meantime, the superinteteent said theyll do what they can to improve career and Technical Education programs. The district was planning to create 30 new ones. After a cerememy tonight, the university of iowa will have two prayer rooms specifically for Muslim Students. Until now, students practicing islamic faith would have to walk miles to the nearest mosque or try to find a quiet area on campus. Kcrgtv 9s brea love is live in the newsroom this morning. Brea, what has been the response from students chris and nicole, the members of the university of iowas Muslim Student association are saying its a relief to know theres a safe area for them to go. With so many students enrolled at iowa, it can be hard for Muslim Students to find a quietetrea. Students in the msa group reached out to the university asking for the space. After a month of planning they found and renovated two rooms for prayer. One for women and one for men. Students say this is not only a stepeporward for them, but one for the university as well.
