Tacloban City (CNN Philippines, December 18) Biliran Governor Rogelio Espina on Friday said he tested positive for COVID-19 after exposure to two infected staff members.
The governor and his wife, Dr. Cecil Espina, went through RT-PCR testing on Wednesday after two employees working in his office were diagnosed with the coronavirus disease. The test done on me and Dra. Cecil last Wednesday revealed positive results today, Espina said in a Facebook post, adding they are both asymptomatic and have been under quarantine.
The infected employees also do not exhibit any symptoms while under isolation, Espina added.
Contact tracing is underway to identify those who had close contact with them.
