Emails show Minneapolis police chief coordinated with PR pros to fight council, protect budget

Minnesota Reformer Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arradondo coordinated closely with a group called Operation Safety Now, which was created by a PR consultant, to sway public opinion and the City Council against budget cuts to the Minneapolis police department. The Chauvin Trial Cost Minneapolis Millions in Overtime Police Pay

COLUMN: Colorado is making headway in police reform

The verdict of the Derek Chauvin trial is in. Many are celebrating the guilty verdict. Some of those celebrating the verdict are even saying that Colorado should follow the example of Minneapolis and their home state of Minnesota. That idea is ridiculous. Minneapolis has shown us utter incompetence in addressing police brutality and race relations. They have also shown us why defunding the police will not work. I think that we all agree that the death of George Floyd was horrific. I think that we all agree that we do not support the type of breath blocking hold that Mr. Floyd was put in. I think that we all agree that true police brutality should not be tolerated in any of our communities.
