The Catholic Diocese of Manzini, the only diocese in the Kingdom of Eswatini, has launched the Diocesan Jubilee Year, celebrating 110 years of the arrival of the first Catholic Missionaries to Africa’s absolute monarchy.
The Commission for Justice and Peace (CJPC) in Eswatini’s only Catholic Diocese of Manzini has denounced violence taking place amid political instability in the Southern Africa kingdom.
In a statement dated April 6, the bishop says “We do not know who is responsible for this. We do not know the reason why it was done. It is difficult to know who benefits from this.”
The workshop concluded February 24, was promoted to reflect on Pope Francis’ Fratello Tutti to which Fr Celestine Epalanga, SJ suggested durable solutions for the migratory phenomenon in the region including, “identification and analysis of the causes that are at the origin of migratory movements; fight against social injustices and environmental crimes and Promoting resilience in communities affected by the climate crisis among other interventions.”
The Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference (SACBC) has released a statement detailing their findings during their solidarity and pastoral visit to the Kingdom of eSwatini, from October 6 to 12, 2021
