Transelectrica invests 42 million Euro in the refurbishment of two substations in Western Romania

Transelectrica announces that the investment project to complete the 400 kV Banat Axis, part of the 400 kV Ring of Romania, marks important progress through the refurbishment of two key stations: Resita and Timisoara. These investments, with a total value of approximately 42 million euros, will make it possible to close the 400 kV Ring of Romania in the western area, a strategic project for the security of the country’s electricity supply and for the consolidation of the electricity transmission network and of the interconnection with the networks of the neighboring states. With the completion of the 400 kV Oradea Sud-Nadab Overhead Power Line section, in 2020, the degree of achievement of the 400 kV Ring of Romania reached is 70%.

The 400 kV Oradea Sud – Nădab Overhead Power Line was put into operation, thus making it possible for the entire 400 kV Oradea Sud – Nadab – Bekescsaba (Hungary) section to enter commercial operation, Transelectrica announces. The investment worth 4 million RON was completed six months before the contractual term, the works being executed by SC Electromontaj SA Bucharest.
