Eagles Pitching and Patience Pays Off in Win

JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The combined efforts of Jacoby Nold and Carson Orr on the mound Thursday night propelled the Post 14 Eagles to a 5-0 win over Minot’s Post 26 Metros. Gage Orr was the sparkplug on offense for Jamestown, moving up from ninth in the order to fifth and going 2-for-3 with two runs driven in and a run scored. Connor Hoyt finished 1-for-1 with two walks and an RBI, and Brooks Roaldson brought in a run while going 1-for-2. As a team, Post 14 drew five total walks and was hit by pitches on three separate occasions. Nold tossed four scoreless innings, striking out four and allowing just one hit. C. Orr pitched the final three innings in relief, picking up a save and getting two Metro batters to strike out. He also drove in a run at the plate. The Eagles had six total hits as a team and did not make an error defensively. Jamestown left seven total runners on base.

Fargo Stars Hold Off Eagles To Open Legion Season

JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The bats were alive at Jack Brown Stadium on Wednesday night as the Jamestown Post 14 Eagles fell 11-8 to the Fargo Post 400 Stars to open up the Legion baseball season. Fargo jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning and would tack on five more runs over the course of the next two frames to go in front 8-2 heading into the bottom of the third. Jacoby Nold would bring in a run in the bottom of the third with a sacrifice fly, and Ty Monson brought in one more on a single that scored Preston Kroeber.

Blue Jays Drop Two At Home Versus Legacy

JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown baseball team faced off against the top team in the WDA in Legacy on Tuesday night as the Jays fell 4-0 and 7-6 to the Sabres at Jack Brown Stadium. Jamestown struggled to get the bats going in game one as Legacy scored three runs in the third inning off of starter Jacoby Nold. The senior went six innings on the hill in game one, allowing just four hits while striking out two, but the Jays offense failed to supply run support for its starter. Mason Lunzman pitched one inning in game one and finished the first game 2-for-3 at the plate.

Jamestown Drops A Pair at Dickinson

DICKINSON, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Blue Jays traveled to Dickinson on Tuesday night and lost both of its conference games against the Midgets 13-1 and 12-5. The lone run scored by the Blue Jays in game one came in the fifth inning with Jamestown trailing 13-0. Max Fronk finished the day 1-for-1, recording the only hit off of Dickinson during game one. Carson Orr was handed the loss on the mound for Jamestown, dropping his overall record to 0-1 on the season. Jamestown started game two out on the right foot, scoring two runs in the top of the first before Dickinson added three runs in the bottom of the inning. The Midgets would score eight of their 12 runs in the first three innings of the game, and Jamestown would get it back to 8-4 before Dickinson pulled ahead for good.
