CHESHIRE-BASED charity, the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, has launched its spring raffle with supporters having the chance to win £2,500. As well as the top prize of £2,500, there will also be 32 other cash prizes up for grabs – tickets are on sale now for just £1 each. Last year the spring and winter raffle generated a combined £100,000 in total to support the hospice in continuing to deliver free palliative care to their patients and families. Caroline Siddall, director of income generation, said: “The income from the raffle will provide vital funds to help the hospice continue to deliver its outstanding care to patients and their families at a very difficult and emotional time in their lives.
SUNFLOWERS in memory of those who have been loved and lost are to appear in the grounds of Chester Cathedral. The Hospice of the Good Shepherd, based in Backford, has launched its annual Flower Appeal, for local people to remember the life of someone special at Chester Cathedral. For the past two years, the Hospice of the Good Shepherd has raised thousands of pounds from their Forget Me Not and Dedicate A Daisy appeals. This year, the hospice has commissioned a limited number of beautifully handcrafted and unique iron sunflowers that can be dedicated in memory of someone special or to show support for the work the hospice provides.
