there has been steady rain throughout the day and a whole lot more is on the way. emergency crews, they have been very busy responding to several crashes. most of them are weather related . the amount of rain and the intensity of the rainfall are leading to worries in some parts of the bay area. reporter: this is ross creek. take a look. it is impressive. water officials said earlier this morning it was dry. it is currently at five feet. that is halfway to the flood zone. water officials say that it is one of many small streams that they are keeping a eye on. the steady rain is still falling. it is very scary. a scary spinout for two students. it ended with their jeep stuck in the mud. i was scared. the police were very helpful. super understanding and nice. a steady rain fell, it wasn t just the ch p responding to the crashes. we were out all day long yesterday. when the rain hit, we hadn t gone to bed. we witnessed the danger firsthand. this vehicle spun out a
water ways. there is little concern at this point. water levels along the guadalupe river. survey crews spent the day on the banks measuring water flow and assessing flood potential. we looked at all the forecast and the models. reporter: they rely on several rain models to help assess the risk. anderson reservoir is only at 24% capacity. one of the lowest in the county. with all the storms in the forecast, looking pretty good in terms of water supply. reporter: the immediate concerns will get soaked with run off during the next storm and that will trigger flooding. another concern is high winds toppling trees. you see rain here this afternoon. it looks like it is dry tomorrow morning. reporter: models show this might be the last storm in january. so hopeful for good rain totals so it can catch up to the seasonal average. tonight at s6:00 we will take a look at how the government shutdowns is presenting the experts to look at all the models. i am damian trujillo n
yes. we re seeing upper level winds. it will further enhance the system. with that being said, we have a lot of moisture streaming our way. it is kind of a one and done. there is not a lot behind it. with this system, we will be looking at flash flood watches and flood advisories. the rain will be coming down at this time tomorrow night. look at some of the numbers we re anticipating. we re looking at four inches in the coastal hills. around the bay, san francisco, notes they north bay. with this comes wind. the afternoon commute will be an absolute mess. early afternoon and evening commute is messy. it will linger into thursday morning. this could be coming up on an 8.5 out of 10. if this has strong winds, significant rains to produce flood advisories, and the winter storm warning. bill, thank you. the rain cause problems in the roads today in the south bay. crews are repairing for the stronger storms that bill is forecasting for tomorrow. maureen naylor is out. right
on a 40-day limit for the trustees to vote yes or no. the elementary school district. i ll make sure the board gets this. skywalker elementary school district. thank you. i ll make sure the board gets that. reporter: skywalker, miller creek, more than a dozen names are being proposed to replace the word dixie. dixie is a nosym nya remind lynchings and segregation. railroad marni dickson is on the school board district of trustees and says the name has got to go. these amazing parents and community members have been working 22 years to do there. reporter: the district is made up of three elementary and one middle schools, altogether a little less than 2,000 students and fewer than 40 are african american. dixie school district has a reputation of being one of the best school districts in the area. everybody wants their kids to go there. reporter: locals say the quality associated with the name dixie is good for the kids who go there and for real estate pric
