ISLANDER Keegan Brown who juggles careers as a professional darts player and and an NHS lab assistant aims to raise money for colleagues in some of St Mary s Hospital s busiest areas during the pandemic. The Island hospital s Intensive Care Unit and Isolation Wards, which have been caring for mainly coronavirus-infected patients, are among the most stretched over the past year. Keegan, 28, of Carisbrooke, who has an important double life with the IW NHS Trust and as a pro sportsman, has been touched by what Covid-19 has done to those close to him and the care they have received by colleagues at the sharp end.
A woman has branded Sandown Town Council heartless after being told to remove flowers from a seafront memorial plaque. Natalie Gray and her family had been placing flowers at the site for four years since Dave Gray s passing on January 19, 2017. This year for the first time they received a letter from a member of the Council informing them that they had to remove the flowers or face a fine. Natalie said: My Auntie was contacted on January 20, the day after the anniversary of my Uncle David s death, regarding the flowers we had left on the memorial tile we paid for.
