When we first started, all of the experts people who studied this across the world. I said, where are we going to go . Nobody knew. How fast you could control the spread of the virus. It will depend on what people do. Whether or noton people take it seriously. If people except the warnings, understand the virus and understand how serious it is. I am so proud of how new yorkers have responded. I can say this. I am a born and bred new yorkers. New yorker. New yorkers heard the message and they did what they had to do. They

What i try to do is go everywhere the people i write about went. Id rather drive, and that way you really get a sense of place. Somewhere along the line in the 30,000 or so miles i drive every year i started wondering how we got to be a country, a culture where we take for granted we are going to get in a car and go everywhere we want to. Since i did not know, i thought it would be a good idea to write a book about that. As always happens when you look into history, there is more to it than you ever expected. Jeff the story i meant to tell is how america morphed into a car culture, from horse and wagon to everybody wanting cars to go places. I did not know until i started researching that henry ford and Thomas Edison were at the forefront of this, so the book became a story about that point. I had had to shake his hand and for us it was very poignant last year my dads way when we often called morning to see he was a break to pass and my sister and her family and myself were able to feast with them. Im literally 0 goodbyes to them and as my sister and her family myself were talking we could see without breaching his hands at the same of us beds for our hero he raised in 4 people with her blue gloves on and it was a really great moment because touch was such a reassuring the increment and we werent there the whole my dads hand you know we were denied opportunity to be with him just in his final hours and when we think of the most vulnerable in our society you know our Elderly Population some places theres theres been cases where with people with disabilities and they dont have this embrace that will again and again with them and they are into these homes you cared for to be protected.
