1. Tangshan to import 12,000 mt of recycled steel in May
As of the end of April, Shougang Jingtang, China Minmetals and other companies have imported a total of 11,000 mt of recycled steel from Caofeidian Port. Delong Group, Jingye Group, and China State Shipbuilding Corporation imported 12,000 mt of recycled steel from Jingtang Port. Customs department estimated that Caofeidian Port and Jingtang Port will import 4 ships of recycled steel, with a total volume of 12,000 mt, in May, as tariffs on some steel products have been adjusted from on May 1. Many steel and steel-related enterprises in Tangshan have been focusing on ultra-low emissions and seeking low-carbon solutions this year and have imported recycled steel raw materials from South Korea and Japan due to the implementation of the Recycled Steel Raw Materials on January 1.
CNOOC flows first gas from Liuhua 29-2 field
Chinese oil and gas giant CNOOC Limited has produced first gas
from the Liuhua 29-2 gas field located in the South China Sea.
CNOOC said on Thursday that a new subsea wellhead has been built, with one development well planned, which will fully utilize the existing production facilities of Liwan 3-1 gas field and other deepwater gas fields.
According to the company, it is expected to reach peak production of approximately 41 million cubic feet of natural gas per day in 2021.
It is worth noting that CNOOC Limited holds a 100 per cent interest in the Liuhua 29-2 gas field and acts as the operator.

HONG KONG, April 22, 2021 /PRNewswire/ CNOOC Limited (the Company , SEHK: 00883,NYSE: CEO, TSX: CNU) today announced its key operational statistics for the first quarter of 2021.
The Company achieved a total net production of 137.7 million barrels of oil equivalent ( BOE ) for the first quarter of 2021, representing an increase of 4.7% year-over-year ( YoY ). Among which, it was mainly attributable to production growth from the commencement of new projects, such as Liuhua16-2/20-2 and Lvda16-3/21-2, net production from China increased by 8.7% YoY to 94.7 million BOE. For the new projects planned this year, Caofeidian 6-4 oilfield has commenced production, and other projects progressed as scheduled.
