two cargo planes coming from sinai, yemen, to chicago. those are all opportunities for terrorists to exploit what they saw as vulnerabilities. those gaps, hopefully, have been closed. but again, if you re looking at the insider threat, that is a daily challenge. reporter: the insider threat, that s critical here. what they re talking about is the possibility that somebody was either paid off to slip something on this plane or maybe may have been working with al qaeda. in total, frances, 275 airports overseas have agreements with the united states, specifically the tsa, on keeping their security in compliance with tsa regulations, if flights come from there directly to the united states. and so, what we re talking about now is possibly ramping up security there. here at home, we may be seeing more canine teams, we may be seeing more swabbing of the hands, looking for possible explosive residue, maybe more random screenings, but this is really an overseas emphasis right now. all righ
helping to bridge the digital divide. the fbi joining a manhunt for three suspect that is shot and killed a suspect in illinois. they are assisting state and local police using canine teams to track down the trio 69 miles north of chicago. the gunman killed a 30-year fox lake veteran as he pursued them on foot tuesday morning. several school districts are shut down as the manhunt intensifies. baltimore police are gearing up as a hearing gets under way for the six officers charged in the death of freddie gray. some motions to be considered are whether to try the officers together or separately and whether state s attorney marilyn
multiple agencies working on this. swat teams, canine teams, state, federal, local sheriff officials using multiple resources. they have boats in the area. there s a chain of nine lakes as well as the area behind me focussing. this is an area of swampland they re focussing canine dogs and infrared units. the 30 year veteran of the force, someone who had four boys, not only someone that taught local officials how to work with intruders in homes, but he also worked with local explorer s club, young men and cadets looking to be police officers. not only did fox lake lose a family member, i lost a dear friend. he was father of four boys.
do you agree with that? i think the spikes will slow them down. you ve had a number of briefings. there are other things you can do. i don t know that necessarily adding a foot or two is actually going to totally solve that problem. many of the people that got over the fence were actually on the watch list and probably should have been detained before they even got to the fence, so the canine teams need to be increased, but i don t know that necessarily making the fence taller will be the solution that they need. so what else would be the solution? i mean we know that the drones pose a significant security threat to the white house. do you think we should be doing more in terms of that? we heard clancy say new technology but do you think enough is being done on that front? i think they re trying. it s a concerted effort. there are in technologies in place that are surprisingly good i think can take care of the
