The New Milford Police Department issued a call for help on their Facebook page Thursday (08/24/23). They posted the pictures of two suspects with the following information:
The Candlewood Lake Stewards have stopped at least 5 new invasives from entering Candlewood Lake on visiting boats and trailers about to launch. They now ask everyone to make absolutely certain that when they move their boat from lake to lake that they CLEAN, DRAIN, and DRY their entire boat and trailer before launching in a new lake… saying it’s possible that one careless boater can change the ecosystem of a lake forever! Make sure you are not transporting invasive species. Candlewood Lake has invasive species (like milfoil and zebra mussels) that could be spread to other lakes too, so make sure you CLEAN, DRAIN, and DRY when LEAVING Candlewood Lake too!
Each year the State of Connecticut is kind enough to drop the sales tax for a whole week to save us some money. Oh yeah, it's a huge windfall, we get just over 6% off anything under $100. Isn't that kind of the overlords that run this state? The sales tax free week runs from Sunday August 20th until Saturday August 26th.
