At Columbia University and the City University of new york. Dozens of protesters had occupied a building on columbias campus before police went in to apprehend them. Police didnt say how many were students, but new york city mayor eric adams said theres evidence students have been influenced and trained by people not affiliated with Columbia University. Those who broke into the building did include students, it was led by individuals who are not affiliated with the university. They needed that the school needed the nypds assistant to clear the hall and encampments outside. Lets take a look at some of the other live feeds. This one is closer to the action, with Police Officers on one side and pro palestinian protesters, demonstrated on the other. In the last a0 minutes or so, police picked one side of the encampment. It is a Barricade Tent behind it. They picked one area behind it and started picking away at the barricades and moving closer to the protesters. We have seen a number of arrests since then. We can show you the moment when Police Officers begin to enter Hamilton Hall on the campus of Columbia University. This was just moments ago nypd officers in riot gear entering the building through a window. Several officers using a ladder to reach an upper floor of the building, crawling through the opening to enter the hall.
