that it be perceived to be done on the level free from partisan influence. and right now there are questions about that and that s not good for doj and that s not good for the american people. okay. so, having said that, what you just said, on top of that, his name, barr s name is mentioned in the ukraine call summary. should he recuse himself from the investigation like jeff sessions did when it became clear he might have a conflict of interest? yeah, we all know how that worked out for jeff sessions, right? that was the end of his personal relationship with the president and it s what ultimately led the president to terminate him. and that s, you know, incredibly unfortunate because of the lesson that it sends. so, this is what i will say. i think at a minimum the attorney general should do what every attorney general that i m aware of has done in such a situation which is to consult with the career ethics officials at the department of justice and then follow their advice, right

believes that the thing that distinguishes himself from the most recent examples of impeachment, bill clinton and the proceedings that began against richard nixon. he argues they were both guilty of doing something wrong. certainly democrats believe this president has done things that rise to the level of an impeachable offense. he says no, and he believes part of his proof could be reading the transcript of the call. transcript is a word he uses, one we don t use, because it s a call summary. it s not an exact word for word. and, in fact, says so at the top. it says at the top this is not a transcript . reporter: it makes it clear. it does capture conversation and it gives a lot of the flow back and forth between the two leaders and one of the questions that is being explored in the impeachment depositions that have been happening so far is what s missing, and at least one witness that we have been told about believes there were key words or phrases not included in that document.
