We look at the importance of price when we look at Public Interest determination. They impact the price on consumers, on manufacturers, and a lot 6 the issues that you heard here on the panel. That is something were focused on. We think it is very important. But over time, as you look at our research and development program, in the area that i manage which deals with throughout the department of energy, we want to make sure were pushing those technologies here in the United States. Now were ranked 41st in the world in the dealing with Construction Permit category by the world bank. Were getting worse. Other countries are Getting Better. Germany, Something Like number eight. Yesterday i introduced legislation with senator mccaskill thats bipartisan, thats a balanced approach to how do you get at some of this permitting. Senator king is a cosponsor of that legislation. Hes got an incredible background in this, having been a governor, but also in the private sector dealing with permitting. What i like about this legislation is it doesnt take away d. O. Not to the fcc, but from members of congress and groups, about how to treat Net Neutrality. Henry waxman wrote to the fcc asking it to be reclassified as title ii. What is your reaction to that . I respect henry a lot, obviously. But he is wrong. They are trying to use an old for ansed in the 1930s industry in the 21st century. It has been proven over and over again that the best solution to allocation issues and usage issues is an open, transparent market with appropriate oversight by federal, and in some cases, state and local government. We have a booming internet. We have a booming telik and indications system telecommunications system, and by and large it is because congress and various president s have adopted more open marketbased policies. For henry or the fcc to try to use an almost 100yearold law to regulate the internet, in my opinion, is frankly flat wrong.
