Officials said the city’s plant produced more than 2 million gallons of water on Monday, and that volume of production usually “is not needed” until later in the summer; also, it is causing worry if the hot temperatures were to continue. “We are asking the community to help us in our conservation efforts so that we can continue to provide water without restricting uses,” said Mayor Carl Florea. In the city of Leavenworth, all water, even hose water, is considered approved for domestic use (a more technical term for drinking water).
